article imageReview: Drunksouls mixes reggae, pop, and funk

By Wesley Butler     Apr 29, 2014 in Entertainment
DrunkSouls approaches reggae with the energy of a punk band, throws some pop, rock, and a little funk on top of that and ends up at their distinct, lively sound.
Because the band draws from such a wide range of influences, their music is extremely approachable, sounding a little familiar here and there but with an entirely new spin on things.
This latest album, Just Before Chaos is perfect for new listeners and old fans alike since it includes some of the band’s greatest hits as well as a new single, “Chaos“.
It’s a great introduction to their sound, which fluctuates between funny, dance-able, eclectic, confrontational, and dynamic.
After listening to a few songs and checking out DrunkSouls online, it’s obvious that they’re the kind of band that puts on a great live show (I mean, having giant monsters and flying sharks in their promotional images is probably a solid indication of this), and with their fanbase growing in North America a U.S. tour is currently in the works.
