At the time some of those attempting to read it on the
Pottermore site were having a bit of trouble. However Today put up
a mirror for those who want to read the full story. Ron is balding and Harry has some gray which is fairly close to how it was presented when it was briefly touched upon in other media.
The short story also features the "Skeeter" character making outrageous claims about the group and side characters such as:
Bill who, poor man, is grievously scarred from an encounter with a werewolf and yet somehow (enchantment? Love potion? Blackmail? Kidnap?) married the undeniably beautiful (though doubtless empty-headed) Fleur Delacour.
While the short story is certainly interesting for hardcore fans it has little in the way of major revelations. Harry is doing well but his fame complicates things with his family. Hermione is successful with the ministry of magic. It may leave some fans wanting a bit more than was offered. The only development that could surprise some is the mention of how the teenage wizards are developing. Many are noting that they could prove to be characters in a future set of books, but those are only rumors.
Many are also speculating that Rowling wrote this story as a jab at tabloid writers whom she has had some
serious conflict with in the past. It is well noted that she has no love for certain journalists such as the Daily Mail after their publication of a
false story about her life as a single mother.
To those fans who were thrilled at the prospect of another book Rowling
reportedly has "No Plans" to make one. While no longer a
billionaire she is still a millionaire and can do what she wants with her time. Her current career focuses on
charitable giving and she gives little to no indication about future projects until she is ready for them. That won't stop fans from eagerly awaiting any news that might relate to her future books.
