article imageFree Comic Book Day fills local comic shop Special

By Paula Kirman     May 3, 2014 in Entertainment
Edmonton - May 3 was Free Comic Book Day, and comic books shops everywhere were filled with comic fans getting a hold of a number of free titles being offered.
Happy Harbor Comics in Edmonton was no exception. Lines formed outside to get into the tent with the free comics, as well as in the store for the main tills, as almost everything in the store was on sale. Staff and comic fans dressed up as their favourite characters, and customers of all ages were checking out what was available. Local artists were also making original drawings in exchange for donations to Edmonton's Food Bank.
Free Comic Book Day takes place all over North America annually on the first Saturday of May. It is intended to foster a love of the comic art form and encourage literacy.
