The official trailer for an upcoming American horror film from Mike Flanagan has been released ahead of its premiere next month.
Oculus features former Doctor Who star Karen Gillan and one-time Battlestar Galactica Katee Sackhoff
Mike Flanagan is also the co-writer of the movie, which is an update of his own short film. It tells the story of a woman who's trying to clear her brother of murder, believing that something supernatural is the real cause.
Sackhoff — best know for playing Starbuck in the 2003-9 series of Battlestar Galactica — plays Marie Russell in the film, while Gillan appears as Kaylie Russell. Brenton Thwaites plays Tim Russell (SLiDE ).
Gillan, of course, is well known to science-fiction fans for playing Amy Pond, the Doctor Who companion to Matt Smith, a part she played from 2010 to 2012, and again in 2013 in last December's The Time of the Doctor, the Christmas Day special that saw Smith's Doctor regenerate into Peter Capaldi's.
Oculus will be released in the US on April 11, 2014, while in the UK it's set for a June release.
